At Pilton House Trust, we value open communication, and our News Section serves as a platform for sharing the heartwarming stories, achievements, and milestones that make our home a truly special place. We believe that by staying informed, we can foster a stronger sense of community and ensure that everyone feels connected to the enriching experiences within our walls.

Employee of the Month

At Pilton House, we value the dedication and commitment of our incredible staff who work tirelessly to ensure the well-being and happiness of our residents. We are delighted to introduce our Employee of the Month Award, an initiative that celebrates outstanding team members who consistently go above and beyond.

This monthly award is a testament to our appreciation for the exceptional efforts displayed by our staff members. We believe that recognising and acknowledging their hard work not only fosters a positive work environment but also enhances the overall experience for our residents.

What makes our Employee of the Month Award truly special is that it involves both staff and residents. We encourage our residents and their families to participate by casting their votes, providing valuable insights into the compassionate care they receive. This collaborative approach allows us to celebrate team members who make a meaningful impact on the lives of our residents.

To honour the chosen employee, we present them with a well-deserved token of appreciation—an Amazon voucher that they can use to treat themselves to something special. It is our way of saying “thank you” for their unwavering dedication, compassion, and commitment to providing exceptional care and support.

We believe that this initiative not only recognises outstanding performance but also encourages a sense of unity, teamwork, and camaraderie among our staff. It inspires everyone to strive for excellence and continuously improve the care we provide.

We look forward to celebrating the achievements of our remarkable team members through the Employee of the Month Award. Their exceptional work contributes to the warm and nurturing environment that defines Pilton House and enriches the lives of our residents.

Gold Standards Framework (GSF) Accreditation

Following the email received confirming accreditation:

I spoke with the GSF Champions, Alison Delve, Beverly Naylor, Laura Hunt and Cassie Whitfield to congratulate them on their achievement. They are booked to attend the GSF Awards Ceremony in September and the Trust have paid for their places, travel and accommodation. The management team will remain at Pilton House to cover the Champions shifts and enable them to attend.

Message posted on staff electronic notice board:

We have had the official news today that Pilton House Trust has passed the Gold Standard Framework Accreditation and been awarded the Quality Hallmark Award.

A huge congratulations and thank you to our GSF champions who have undertaken this project over the last 19 months. This is a significant achievement and the hard work in implementing this project is appreciated. Thank you also to everyone who took part in the training; provided reflective accounts for the portfolio; completed the evaluation questionnaires; was interviewed on the inspection day. Particularly thanks to those who supported the champions themselves and committed to the implementation of the project. The outcomes achieved for residents, families, staff and the Trust will be tangible. I am so proud of you all.

Excerpts from GSF Accreditation email and report:

‘Pilton House Trust is a friendly and welcoming home. It is evident that a lot of work has been done to implement the GSF into practice. It is a small home with a strong approach to the GSF. There is individualized person-centred care with no deaths in hospital and all hospital admissions were appropriate. Well written case studies with good reflection included. There are well written and detailed life history documents. Wel written piece of reflection identifying lessons learnt. Good examples of working with local charities and council. We are extremely proud of your achievement and we are sure that this will be of great benefit to you, your residents and all who work in the home. Well done!’
