We offer high quality care to anyone over the age of 60, and specialise in care for people with dementia. Residents are accommodated in single rooms (most of which are en-suite) and all being fitted with call bells. Care Plans are tailored to the needs of each individual and reviewed on a monthly basis (or more often, if needed).
Full housekeeping and laundry services are included in the weekly fee, as are all meals, snacks and refreshments. A tuck shop is available daily, and papers can be ordered from the local newsagent. We have a visiting hairdresser who comes in every Monday, and a chiropodist who calls every six weeks. These additonal services are not included in the weekly fee, but are invoiced separately.
We are able to offer up to five places of day care each day, Monday to Friday. A typical day begins with arrival at Pilton House at around 10.30 am, just in time for morning coffee. Various activities are offered each day, so you will have the opportunity to join in, watch, or simply chat to others. We can even help you with a bath or shower if you would like one. A home cooked meal is served at 12.15 and a second activity is offered after lunch – or we may have visiting entertainers. At 3pm tea and cakes are served, with plenty of time for a chat before leaving at 4.30pm
PLEASE NOTE – We are currently unable to offer transport to or from day care.
Fortnightly we host a Memory Cafe from the Church Hall next to PIlton House. The main purpose of the Cafe is to give anyone in the local community who may be experiencing memory problems (or those who care for them) the opportunity to come along for a chat over tea and cake. We have lots of information available for those concerned about memory loss, and our members tell us that they really appreciate being able to speak to one another about shared experiences. This service is free of charge. For dates of meetings please see our news page.
